Queen Mary 2: New York to Southampton — Days 3–4 (Jan 5–6, 2024)

We seem to have settled into an onboard routine now, beginning mornings with breakfast and beginner’s bingo and ending days with a drink and 8pm dinner.

It did snow yesterday and today, just as I had hoped it would when I chose a January crossing. Conditions were quite rough last night and today, but my friend and I haven’t experienced any sea-sickness. I think we would have by now if we were going to, as the motion at times during the night was enough to make us imagine we could fall out of bed with the tilting and our walking is quite swervy. Nothing has fallen off shelves, though. Would it be worse on another ship or is the ocean liner not really that much more stable than others?

But we loved the snow. I walked the 3 laps (one mile) around the deck both days. Today’s snow was heavy enough to accumulate on board a bit, and we threw snowballs and made a tiny snow man on deck. I doubt many people can say they have done that aboard the QM2!
